About Us

BC Easter Seals Camps

At BC Easter Seals Camps, it is our goal to provide safe, fun activities in an environment where the focus is on abilities, not disabilities. All of our camp activities are designed to build confidence, independence and peer interaction in a recreational environment. Campers are encouraged and supported to participate in activities they may never have tried before including: climbing on our climbing wall,  tie-dying, water polo, canoeing, wheelchair basketball, water balloon wars, and Kangaroo Kourt.

Camping Program
Our camping program provides sleep-over summer camp sessions for children 6 to 18 years of age and young adults 19 to 29 years of age who have an intellectual and/or physical disability. Through corporate, legacy gifts, individual donations, events and the time and effort of countless volunteers, the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities is able to run camps that enables campers to have an opportunity to attend our camp at a cost of $550 per participant.

Young Adult Camp
This program is suited for young adults who are looking for a traditional summer camp experience. This program focuses on providing social and recreational opportunities for campers.

Please see our program information section for additional information on eligibility. If you would like further assistance finding a camp to meet your child's needs please contact the Director of Camping .

Camp Winfield is fully accredited by the BC Camping Association.

Easter Seals House and Other Services

In addition to our Easter Seals Camps, we also run a Easter Seals House where children and their family members can stay while getting essential medical treatment in Vancouver. We also support the Lions Laser Skin Centre at Vancouver General Hospital, Child Development Centres around the province, the Lions Helipad at Vancouver General Hospital, Easter Seals Buses and Patient Care Grants, which provide financial assistance to families of children with special needs.
