YAC/LIT Application Process


We have a single application for both LIT and Young Adult Camps. The application will give participants an opportunity to choose their first, second and third choices out of our three young adult programs. When campers graduate from our summer camp program, we assess whether each graduate would gain more from the LIT programs or from our YAC program. We use this evaluation to help match each graduate with the program that would be best suited for them. We also include a questionnaire in the application to help determine what the applicant would like to get out of their experience in our young adult programs. Working together with families and using our past evaluations and the questionnaire, we strive to offer each participant the best experience possible. 

Application Process

Only the current year's application will be accepted. The application must be downloaded, printed, all applicable sections filled out, and mailed to the Vancouver BC Easter Seals Camps head office:

Once your completed application has been received, we will read over your application and match you with the program of your first choice if possible. Not all participants are appropriate for all programs so we may offer you a space in your second or third choice program if we feel that it would be a better fit. We will use your application as well as past camp evaluations to determine suitability for our young adult programs. Applicants who apply for LIT and are deemed appropriate will be contacted to participate in an interview with the LIT Coordinator.

Registration will be confirmed only after we have received ALL paperwork pertaining to an applicant's participation in the program. This includes pages 7-21 of the application, Personal Support Worker forms if applicable, and an interview with the LIT Coordinator for LIT applicants.

Because of the limited number of spaces in our young adult programs, applicants will be accepted for LIT and YAC camps on a first-come-first-serve basis for completed applications.

The Young Adult camping programs that we run are highly subsidized by the BC Lions Society.
The participant fees are as follows:

LIT Camps: $650/participant

YAC: $750/participant

Please note that payment must be made at the time of application. However, payments (cheque or credit card) will not be processed until a space in the program has been confirmed. Please include payment for your first choice program. If a participant accepts a space in a second or third choice program with a different cost, payment changes will be organized at that time. Cancellation will result in a $100 processing fee if the applicant cancels one month before the session start date. No refund will be given for cancellations within one month of session start date, unless the cancellation is for medical reasons and is accompanied by a doctor’s note, in which case a full refund will be given.
